Woodcut Geometrics Style

Woodcut Geometrics Style is a collection deeply inspired by the artistic language and visual traditions of woodcut printmaking. The distinctive aesthetics of woodcut art — its bold carved-looking forms, expressive textures, imperfect edges, and striking contrasts — serve as the creative foundation of this visual family.

Through a contemporary interpretation of this traditional graphic language, the collection explores the relationship between geometric abstraction, handcrafted visual character, and architectural spaces. Strong black shapes interact with warm cream backgrounds, creating compositions that evoke the tactile richness and expressive imperfections associated with woodblock printing.

At the heart of this family is the idea of rhythm through form. Connected lines, fragmented geometric elements, and irregular structures create different visual movements, while textured surfaces and intentionally imperfect contours reinforce the woodcut-inspired identity of the designs. Rather than pursuing mechanical precision or perfect symmetry, the compositions celebrate the warmth and individuality of an artisanal aesthetic.

Although João, Maria, and Marcela share this common artistic foundation, each interprets the language of woodcut-inspired geometry in a distinctive way. João explores continuous, interconnected forms with a strong sense of movement. Maria introduces a more fragmented and playful rhythm, while Marcela develops a structured composition of irregular shapes and contrasting spaces.

Created with architectural applications in mind, this family transforms walls into expressive graphic surfaces. Its black-and-cream palette creates a striking visual presence while complementing natural materials such as wood and stone, neutral furnishings, and warm contemporary interiors.

The result is a visual family that brings the expressive strength of traditional woodcut aesthetics into contemporary wallcovering design, balancing graphic boldness, handcrafted character, and architectural sophistication.
